A beautiful place and area, people so friendly. Prices for food and drink really good. Town just over 3 miles away. John was an amazing host with a beautiful cottage and the best thing it had an EV charger attached and at a good rate, so convenient. John answered all queries without any delay and nothing was to much trouble. I cannot recommend Johns place enough, a well equipped cottage and perfect for couples wanting to get away and relax with a beautiful canal and place to eat and drink just across the road. Will definitely recommend to family and friends and look forward to a return visit. Thank you again John

The Dovecote is a gem, beautifully clean and cosy, located in a very peaceful area with 2 fantastic pubs in walking distance. We stayed for a 30th birthday celebration & John was a wonderful host who went above and beyond to ensure The Dovecote was made extra special for the occasion. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the private hot tub. 10/10 stay overall and will definitely look to come back. Thank you John :)

"I recently stayed at this beautiful annexed cottage and couldn't rate it highly enough! It was the perfect blend of business and leisure.
Highlights:
 Host & Service: John was a fantastic host. I was greeted warmly, and he was even kind enough to allow an early check-in, which was much appreciated.
 Connectivity: As I was mixing business with pleasure, the Wi-Fi was essential, and it was fast and reliable throughout my stay.
 Location: The setting is ideal. It is perfectly positioned for dog walking, with the canal less than 150 yards away (and another 50 yards to cross it). There are plenty of options for food delivery (Deliveroo/Uber Eats) if you don't feel like cooking.
 Amenities: The cottage itself was lovely, and the hot tub was a wonderful touch. Having plenty of parking made the logistics of the trip completely stress-free.

Beautiful little hideaway, perfect for our child free couple of nights away, the accommodation was perfect, had everything we needed with the added bonus of the gorgeous hot tub. 
The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud :-) incredibly comfortable. Would definitely book to stay again, the area was so pretty and so close to the local pubs and the main Locke. We had a lovely ride on the canal boat up to the blisworth tunnel, which was great. A really wonderful stay.

We stayed at the Dovecote for 4 nights and really enjoyed it.  The place was immaculate, lovely comfy bed and a great shower.  Didn't do any cooking as there is a pub opposite that does really good food, but the kitchen was well equipped if needed.  The Dovecote is very central for exploring Northants and John the host was very helpful with anything we requested (a bag of ice in the freezer for our arrival as it was very hot) and there was a large fan which helped with the extreme heat.  The EV charger was a great addition for us.  We will definitely stay there again and would highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay for my boyfriends birthday. The place was beautiful and so many helpful suggestions for food, drinks and more. We brought our dog Bowie and he absolutely loved the walks. The hot tub area was so lovely and well maintained.

Perfect location (we went to an event at Silverstone). Really private and peaceful, everything we needed was provided, place was very clean, bed was super comfy, shower was powerful and clean, kitchen was spot on and hot tub was great. Definitely would recommend!

Everything was as described. A lovely, modern chalet in a beautiful little village with a couple of pubs/restaurants within a two minute stroll, where you can watch the narrowboats negotiate a couple of locks. Perfect for our two night stay. We visited during the heatwave at the end of May and John had kindly had the forethought to leave a large fan in the chalet for us - much needed & appreciated. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely place to stay, nice decorated and a super comfy bed. A well stocked kitchen which had everything you need. The shower was good too. A nice light and airy feel to the place. Enjoyed the hot tub too.

Both the pubs are very close and serve nice food with a good atmosphere. Also some nice local walks you can go on. Definitely worth a visit

The Dovecote was a great place to stay, the village was peaceful and we got lots of use out of the hot-tub. 2 pubs very close by and the canal through the village was a lovely bit of scenery. We really enjoyed our stay and John was prompt to return messages and had a binder inside the property full of things to do and other items such as instructions for the hot-tub. We’d happily stay in one of John’s AirBnBs again !

Really loved our stay here to celebrate our anniversary, very comfy bed, private hot tub ready to go and a cosy sofa too with lovely restaurants nearby and larger towns within a short drive. We hope to visit again soon!

The property was lovely and pristine. Unfortunately a bit too cold to make use of the hot tub. The surrounding area was great with some nice walks nearby and two pubs within walking distance which both did great food.

Stayed here for Christmas and had the most relaxing and beautiful Christmas Day. Loved having a hot tub to start and finish the day off with. The location is lovely, a peaceful quiet little village but not too far out of the way. Would 100% recommend to family and friends❤️

Just stayed here with my boyfriend for a little christmas get away. The place was stunning and so was the area, everything was easily accessible and there’s a little pub just over the road. The place was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed the heated floor was a bonus. Overall we had a great experience and a homely stay would recommend 10/10!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We were initially a little concerned that the hot tub area was not fully enclosed, but after using it once, we couldn’t resist going back again. It completely put us at ease. John gave us privacy and allowed us to enjoy the space at our own pace, with clear guides provided for all appliances and facilities. Thoughtful touches such as disposable slippers for the hot tub and provided robes really stood out. The area was peaceful and the overall experience was truly amazing.

I had such a fantastic experience staying at John's place! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and exactly as described. The location was perfect — close to pubs, local attractions, yet peaceful and quiet at night.

John was incredibly welcoming and responsive, making check-in smooth and easy. They even provided thoughtful touches like coffee, hot chocolate, which made the stay feel extra special.

Cozy, comfortable little cottage close to the canal and great country, canal side pubs. John was a very helpful host, indeed. We especially liked the duvet, the Hotel Chocolat velvetier and, of course, the relaxing hot tub. Highly recommended!

We booked Dovecote not knowing the area at all but looking for a peaceful staycation. We were very excited there was a hot tub to relax in and this was clean and accessible. The welcome pack gave useful information about local pubs, menus and the Indian takeaway across the road. The Dovecote was clean. We went on a canal boat ride (£5 adults, £4 children) to see Blisworth Tunnel. We ate from the Indian takeaway and at The Navigation. Both meals were a reasonable price and very tasty.  The area is lovely and was perfect for us and our dog. John was always on hand to message if we needed anything and replied promptly. We have already started recommending this place to friends and family. Thank you.

We had an amazing stay at the Dovecote! The place was spotless, beautifully styled, and felt like a real treat from the moment we arrived. We didn’t speak much but it was all very simple and well communicated. Stoke Bruerne is a beautiful little town and for a weekend get away to detox it is magical. Thoroughly enjoyed this little cottage and the town it’s in.

Another lovely weekend. John's place is  so central to the canal and the pub. We hardly used the car, we walked lots of canal, took a trip through the Blisworth tunnel and spent lots of time in the hot tub, thanks for coming to clean it so quickly. The pub is central to the community and we ate there twice and used the kitchen twice. The bed is very comfy and thank you so much for providing a fan, definitely needed during this heat wave. Highly recommended for a sneaky weekend away.

We had a lovely, peaceful 2 night stay. The property was clean, the bed was very comfy and the shower had great pressure!! Something that is rare to find these days🤣 The EV charger was also a big plus point. The village is lovely, quiet and the people are very friendly too. It has 2 pubs and an indian restaurant within 2 minutes walking distance of the property, all of which are located on the canal. We would definately recommend eating at the indian restaurant, by far one of the best curry’s we have ever had! We also visited Whipsnade Zoo and the hot tub was lovely to relax in after all the walking. We would definately recommend staying here and John is a really good host. Very responsive and nothing seemed too much trouble! Overall we had a lovely time

I went to Stoke Bruerne to attend a family wedding. what a gem of a find The Dovecote is. 

It had everything a guest could possibly need. A well kitted out kitchen, the most comfortable bed ever and good water pressure in the shower. Not that I needed it in June thankfully, but there's even under floor heating too.

I booked this for my partners birthday and it was the perfect location. The place was very clean and it was a relaxing few days for us both. John was accommodating with quick responses. We did really enjoy our time away but the only downside was that the jets in the hot tub wasn’t working but John did communicate this with us before we arrived at the property. Would definitely recommend/ return back.

Was a lovely little place to stay in, perfect for a couple. We visited both the near by pubs and they were lovely as well, the food was good. Also had the Indian across the road which was equally as nice. Would recommend this to anyone looking for an out of the way place with walkable places nearby. It was clean and tidy and very cozy. Will be looking again in the future :)

Dovecote is an absolutely beautiful place with everything you could possibly need, John was very responsive and nothing seemed any trouble to him, we chose an early arrival and a slightly later checkout and that was all agreeable, easy walking distance to the Boat inn and restaurant who are extremely friendly with views over the canal, we will definitely stay again in the future, Steve & Sue

There was nothing not to like about here.  Everything you need for a break & the hot tub was amazing. John was quick to come back to me when needed.
The bed was very comfy & lovely linen, nice touch to have slippers, gowns & extra towels for outside.
We were able to take the dogs, lots of lovely walks and dog friendly pubs.  Although we knew the living & dining area was open plan, we hadn't really realised that the bedroom was too. This meant we had to pile up our cases to stop the dogs coming in at night. We don't allow dogs on the beds at home, but they would take a chance if they could!  
The private yard is secure, but not directly accessible from the front door. This meant I had to pop on their leads to take them out.  In the summer, I would have been unable to leave the door open to the yard. Again, not a major problem, but this is useful info.
Location is lovely, good Indian takeaway, The Boat Inn supplies groceries. The Navigation great for riverside drinks but awful Sun roast

John was very helpful from the start. We arrived early and he accommodated for us to check in early. The cottage was just as described and was simply stunning and clean. John was extremely responsive to messages and I couldn’t recommend this place any more highly!

Stayed at the dovecote for my girlfriend’s birthday, we liked the location as it’s close to a large shopping centre in Milton Keynes and Whipsnade zoo. The place is very cosy and nicely equipped. Best part was definitely the hot tub. Despite the storm we still enjoyed and relaxed in the evening. Would stay again
