Fantastic property! We’ve just got home from a wonderful two night stay. Amazing walks near by, lots to do and would definitely come back. Thank you.

Just stayed here with my boyfriend for a little christmas get away. The place was stunning and so was the area, everything was easily accessible and there’s a little pub just over the road. The place was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed the heated floor was a bonus. Overall we had a great experience and a homely stay would recommend 10/10!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We were initially a little concerned that the hot tub area was not fully enclosed, but after using it once, we couldn’t resist going back again. It completely put us at ease. John gave us privacy and allowed us to enjoy the space at our own pace, with clear guides provided for all appliances and facilities. Thoughtful touches such as disposable slippers for the hot tub and provided robes really stood out. The area was peaceful and the overall experience was truly amazing.

I had such a fantastic experience staying at John's place! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and exactly as described. The location was perfect — close to pubs, local attractions, yet peaceful and quiet at night.

John was incredibly welcoming and responsive, making check-in smooth and easy. They even provided thoughtful touches like coffee, hot chocolate, which made the stay feel extra special.

I really appreciated the comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen, and cozy atmosphere — it truly felt like a home away from home. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting this place.

If you’re looking for a nice little getaway, especially as a little romantic break, I would highly recommend this location. It is one of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at, couldn’t speak hardly enough of the location. The hot tub was great too..

Cozy, comfortable little cottage close to the canal and great country, canal side pubs. John was a very helpful host, indeed. We especially liked the duvet, the Hotel Chocolat velvetier and, of course, the relaxing hot tub. Highly recommended!

We booked Dovecote not knowing the area at all but looking for a peaceful staycation. We were very excited there was a hot tub to relax in and this was clean and accessible. The welcome pack gave useful information about local pubs, menus and the Indian takeaway across the road. The Dovecote was clean. We went on a canal boat ride (£5 adults, £4 children) to see Blisworth Tunnel. We ate from the Indian takeaway and at The Navigation. Both meals were a reasonable price and very tasty.  The area is lovely and was perfect for us and our dog. John was always on hand to message if we needed anything and replied promptly. We have already started recommending this place to friends and family. Thank you.

We had a great stay in this lovely little get away. Peaceful, private, well kept and comfortable. The host has great attention to detail and the place had everything we needed. Great little walks, lovely beer gardens and a gorgeous canal all literally as you step out of the house - and a super relaxing hot tub too. John was super accommodating and flexible. We had an amazing stay at the Dovecote! The place was spotless, beautifully styled, and felt like a real treat from the moment we arrived. The amenities were top-notch — we especially loved the Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser for cosy nights in, and the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind after exploring. The location is fantastic, close to everything but still peaceful and relaxing. John was friendly and responsive, which made everything even smoother. Would definitely recommend and hope to return!

We didn’t speak much but it was all very simple and well communicated. Stoke Bruerne is a beautiful little town and for a weekend get away to detox it is magical. Thoroughly enjoyed this little cottage and the town it’s in.

Another lovely weekend. John's place is  so central to the canal and the pub. We hardly used the car, we walked lots of canal, took a trip through the Blisworth tunnel and spent lots of time in the hot tub, thanks for coming to clean it so quickly. The pub is central to the community and we ate there twice and used the kitchen twice. The bed is very comfy and thank you so much for providing a fan, definitely needed during this heat wave. Highly recommended for a sneaky weekend away.

We had a lovely, peaceful 2 night stay. The property was clean, the bed was very comfy and the shower had great pressure!! Something that is rare to find these days🤣 The EV charger was also a big plus point. The village is lovely, quiet and the people are very friendly too. It has 2 pubs and an indian restaurant within 2 minutes walking distance of the property, all of which are located on the canal. We would definately recommend eating at the indian restaurant, by far one of the best curry’s we have ever had! We also visited Whipsnade Zoo and the hot tub was lovely to relax in after all the walking. We would definately recommend staying here and John is a really good host. Very responsive and nothing seemed too much trouble! Overall we had a lovely time

I went to Stoke Bruerne to attend a family wedding. what a gem of a find The Dovecote is. 

It had everything a guest could possibly need. A well kitted out kitchen, the most comfortable bed ever and good water pressure in the shower. Not that I needed it in June thankfully, but there's even under floor heating too.

I booked this for my partners birthday and it was the perfect location. The place was very clean and it was a relaxing few days for us both. John was accommodating with quick responses. We did really enjoy our time away but the only downside was that the jets in the hot tub wasn’t working but John did communicate this with us before we arrived at the property. Would definitely recommend/ return back.

I booked The Dovecote as a treat for my son and his girlfriend. He described the place as "unreal" - which is the highest complement available! A truly beautiful place and surroundings, with a delightful and very helpful host - thank you John!

Was a lovely little place to stay in, perfect for a couple. We visited both the near by pubs and they were lovely as well, the food was good. Also had the Indian across the road which was equally as nice. Would recommend this to anyone looking for an out of the way place with walkable places nearby. It was clean and tidy and very cozy. Will be looking again in the future :)

Dovecote is an absolutely beautiful place with everything you could possibly need, John was very responsive and nothing seemed any trouble to him, we chose an early arrival and a slightly later checkout and that was all agreeable, easy walking distance to the Boat inn and restaurant who are extremely friendly with views over the canal, we will definitely stay again in the future, Steve & Sue

There was nothing not to like about here.  Everything you need for a break & the hot tub was amazing. John was quick to come back to me when needed.
The bed was very comfy & lovely linen, nice touch to have slippers, gowns & extra towels for outside.
We were able to take the dogs, lots of lovely walks and dog friendly pubs.  Although we knew the living & dining area was open plan, we hadn't really realised that the bedroom was too. This meant we had to pile up our cases to stop the dogs coming in at night. We don't allow dogs on the beds at home, but they would take a chance if they could!  
The private yard is secure, but not directly accessible from the front door. This meant I had to pop on their leads to take them out.  In the summer, I would have been unable to leave the door open to the yard. Again, not a major problem, but this is useful info.
Location is lovely, good Indian takeaway, The Boat Inn supplies groceries. The Navigation great for riverside drinks but awful Sun roast

We stayed at the dovecote for our anniversary and it was absolutely perfect, exactly what we were looking for. It was a great location, the cottage was super cozy, and the hot tub was a great bonus in the evenings.

John was very helpful from the start. We arrived early and he accommodated for us to check in early. The cottage was just as described and was simply stunning and clean. John was extremely responsive to messages and I couldn’t recommend this place any more highly!

Lovely accommodation. Clean and decorated to a high standard. It was a bit of a squeeze in the bedroom with a travelcot but not a problem when only staying for a few days. Hot tub was great. Two pubs within a two minute walk.

Stayed at the dovecote for my girlfriend’s birthday, we liked the location as it’s close to a large shopping centre in Milton Keynes and Whipsnade zoo. The place is very cosy and nicely equipped. Best part was definitely the hot tub. Despite the storm we still enjoyed and relaxed in the evening. Would stay again

Lovely weekend break, hot tub was amazing, the best we have used in an Airbnb.  Bed was super comfy. The local pub was excellent and very close. We were lucky with the weather and had lovely walks along the canal.

We had a great few days away here. Everything was as described and presented lovely. Lots of local places to either have breakfast at, grab an afternoon treat and have dinner without having to go out in the car, great if you fancy a drink or two. Great place and location, only 1 hour 30 mins away from London. Especially including the hot tub was great in this sunny weather. Great Wifi. Kitchen has everything. The place had everything you can think. Only thing in my opinion that let us down was the bed. The bed was very high up. It was not comfortable to sleep on but everything else was great.

The property was beautiful , felt so cosy and at home , couldn’t of ask for a better stay ! Highly recommend

A fantastic cottage in a lovely location. It is very clean and comfortable and has everything that you need for a self catering holiday. The hot tub is lovely to relax in and robes, slippers and outdoor towels are provided. The cottage is really close to the canal and there are 3 great places to eat within a few minutes walk.

The perfect little getaway destination and the owners are very friendly and helpful. It's small but comfortable, clean and has everything you need. The hot-tub is private and well maintained, and having an EV charger is a particularly welcome addition if you drive an EV. All you have to do is plug in, as the owner will set it to charge on either the low rate overnight, or the daytime rate if you prefer (but why would you?). The location is just across the road from the canal with two pubs and and two restaurants. The only downside is no garden area for sitting in the sun, but the small private area where the hot tub is has a small table and two chairs for your morning coffee in the sunshine. There are lots of National Trust properties close by so you never have to travel far, such as Canons Ashby or Stowe gardens. Stony Stratford is a lovely little village worth a visit, too.

Had a wonderful stay at Dovecote. Can not fault the property, the owners had thought of everything to make our stay perfect, from a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge to robes and slippers. It was the perfect romantic and relaxing break for us. Oh and the hot tub was fabulous ☺️We will definitely be back!

It was a great location with the lovely addition on the hot tub! With a choice of pubs and a restaurant within less than a 5 minute walk, it was a great place for a relaxing break.

Everything you want for a short break, PLUS an excellent hot tub and hassle-free ev charging. Good eateries on the spot, and a nice buzz around the canal at weekends.
